We are delighted and deeply honoured to share some wonderful news.
TWAM has been awarded a Silver Commonwealth Environment & Corporate Social Responsibility Award in the category of Best Environmental Improvement, recognising our ongoing commitment to giving unwanted tools a second life and creating sustainable livelihoods around the world.

Selected from more than 400 entries from across the Commonwealth, the award was presented at a ceremony held during the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on 31 July 2026.
But whilst we are incredibly grateful for this recognition, we see it as a celebration of everyone who has played a part in our work over the years.

Every volunteer who has cleaned, repaired and sorted donated tools; every supporter who has offered a gift; every partner organisation that has distributed tools overseas; and every person who has chosen to support our mission has contributed to this moment.

For many years, we have believed that tools provide the most sustainable way to forge a better future. By rescuing unwanted tools from disposal, carefully refurbishing them, and sending them to vocational training centres and community projects across Africa, we help reduce waste while equipping people with practical, long-lasting means to earn a living.
And every tool reused is one less item sent to landfill, one less replacement needing to be manufactured, and one more opportunity for someone to learn a lasting trade.

As part of the award, we have also been recognised as a Green World Ambassador and CSR World Leader. Our project will be featured in The Green Book, an international publication showcasing examples of environmental and corporate social responsibility best practice, allowing organisations around the world to learn from our approach. We have also been invited to represent the United Kingdom at next year's Green World Awards.

These are tremendous honours, and we accept them with gratitude and humility. They encourage us to continue improving our work while remaining focused on what matters most: serving communities, caring for God's creation, and helping people build brighter futures through practical skills and meaningful work.

Finally, we would like to thank The Green Organisation and the Commonwealth Environment & Corporate Social Responsibility Awards for recognising our work. Most importantly, thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years.
Whether you have donated a tool, volunteered your time, made a financial gift, prayed for our work, or simply shared our story with others, you have helped make this possible.
