About Tools with a Mission
Founded in 1984, TWAM is a charity that collects unwanted usable tools, refurbishes them, and sorts them into trade tool kits for livelihood creation. They have a mission to empower people and groups in need, offering them a way through tools to put poverty in the past for good and begin their own sustainable careers. In doing so, they also enrich our local UK communities through volunteering opportunities and waste reduction, contributing significantly to environmental sustainability.

Through their 'local to global' model, TWAM prevents nearly 400 tonnes of tools from crowding UK landfills annually and engage local communities, offering volunteering opportunities that nurture skills and foster social connections. The impact of TWAM's work resonates globally, as they supply refurbished tools to over 500 organisations in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa. These tools equip individuals with the skills needed to completely transform their lives and communities.

By refurbishing and recycling, TWAM saves over 1,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, demonstrating a commitment to environmental sustainability. TWAM toolkits serve as catalysts for change, from supporting families and education to strengthening communities. Their local efforts have a global impact, helping to create a world where everyone has the chance to thrive.
