Toolkit Appeal

Get our kits off the ground

Please join us in changing lives this autumn!

Every toolkit we send has an impact

Every year, people and organisations benefit from thousands of refurbished tools from Tools With A Mission, giving them the means to learn a trade, start a business, and build a better future.

These tools are carefully packed into TWAM toolkits, each one containing the elements needed for a trainee to flourish. For instance, a sewing machine kit might contain a bag of haberdashery essentials to complement the machine. A carpentry kit contains oilstones and mallets as well as chisels, hammers, and saws. And a mechanics workshop kit needs trolley jacks and bench vices, not just a toolbox.

Each container of kits costs between £6,000 and £10,000 - and that number is only rising. But without your gifts, our toolkits are grounded - and all the hard work in preparing them is wasted.

These toolkits are the heart of our mission. Behind each one are hours of hard work from our team and volunteers – sorting, refurbishing, and packing over 18,000 tools a year. The impact? Life-changing!

To achieve our goal of sending 25 containers this year, we are aiming to raise an extra £15,000 to help keep these toolkits moving. Together, we can get them into the hands of those who need them most.

This is Container Glyn

Named in honour of a long-serving TWAM volunteer, Container Glyn left the UK in March. It was bound for Burundi, TWAM's first ever shipment of tools to that country.

After several months at sea, it safely arrived in Karusi Province, Burundi, and was handed over to our trusted local partner - the Herridge Technical School.

The response was one of surprised delight. Until then, the idea of receiving good-quality toolkits from a distant country seemed too good to be true. A student at the Herridge School put it well: “People kept telling us ‘Be careful; this might be a scam.’ But now we have the tools in our hands. We are ready to start.”

But without you, Container Glyn would never have left the ground. Your generosity has made all the difference, and has changed people's lives. Can you help us continue to make this change?
