Who's who

Meet the team in TWAM's Ipswich head office

TWAM has volunteers across the country and details of the Refurbishment Centre managers can be found on the appropriate pages under the 'how to find us' tab.  Below are details of our head office based staff.

Mike Griffin

Chief Executive

I joined Tools with a Mission in May 2015.  My Christian ministry has taken several directions up to this point.  Following a call to Christian full time service in 1987, I attended Bible College in Birmingham for three years.  I then accepted a call to a Church in Croydon where I served as a Community Pastor for three years.  This was followed by seven years, pastoring a church in Braintree, Essex.

I then joined The Leprosy Mission for twelve years serving within the community fundraising team.  This involved developing relationships with churches, initiating fundraising and volunteer campaigns and volunteer management.

The move to Tools with a Mission followed, and with it the move to a more strategic and change management role.  When I joined TWAM, it was at the point where it either moved to a period of significant growth or decline.  I am very pleased with the support of all the staff and volunteers, we have entered a period of growth and blessing.

Outside of TWAM, I am married to Linda (our Prayer Coordinator) and we attend a village based Evangelical Free Church.  My passion is long distance trail running, enjoying the quiet and solitude of running many miles through Thetford Forest in near silence.  A great way to offload stress!

Trevor Maynard

Refurbishment Centre Manager

I started with TWAM in May 2018, having previously worked as a Health and Safety Officer for a national estate agent.   Before that I spent many years working in logistics within the NHS.  I am responsible for managing the day to day running of the Refurbishment Centre and the overall Health and Safety requirements for the whole mission.  I married to Sarah.

Outside of TWAM, I attend a Baptist Church and am a keen biker.

Lyn Walker

Operations Manager

I joined TWAM as a volunteer in September 2015, having taken early retirement from a career in project management in the pharmaceutical industry.  I hope I can bring my many years of experience in shipping and logistics to TWAM, as well as my ability to project manage and implement new procedures to comply with ever changing regulations.  I am responsible for the detailed documentation required to import into Africa and all the shipping arrangements.

Outside of TWAM, I am a member of an Evangelical Free Church (the same as Mike and Linda) where I volunteer as the treasurer.  I am also a member of the support team for our local schools' worker, along with Mike and Linda.  I also help in the our local homeless drop-in centre.  I keep very busy!  I also enjoy, walking, cycling and entertaining.

Duncan McLennan

National Logistics Manager

I joined TWAM, as a volunteer in September 2017, following a career that began with Siebe Gorman, famous for producing diving equipment including the famous copper/brass diver’s helmets.  This was followed by a time with Renold based in Manchester who were famous for production of chains, industrial gears, and machinery to produce same.

Finally I moved to the South to work in production control and computing with Avent (Philips) baby products in Glemsford, Suffolk, working as the Site IT Operations Manager.  My role within TWAM is primarily to make things easier for everybody by making the systems simpler and clearer and the work done by other volunteers easier.

I am originally from Scotland, and more specifically, the fishing port of Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire.  Outside of TWAM, I have a lifelong passion for motorcycling, built a motor bike from scratch and currently own a Triumph motorbike which I love taking on road trips across Europe.

Linda Griffin

Prayer Coordinator and Zimbabwe Country Coordinator

I joined TWAM when my husband, Mike became the Chief Executive in May 2015.  I come from a career in IT in the financial industry, but for the past 15 years or so, have worked alongside Mike in a voluntary role.  When he joined The Leprosy Mission,  we worked together to organise and run supporter meetings across the UK.  I also volunteered in the Head Office in Peterborough one day a week, working alongside the Gift Aid officer.

When Mike joined TWAM, I joined the admin team and I now compile the Prayer Diary and have responsibility for Zimbabwe, as the Country Coordinator.

Outside of TWAM, I am a member of an Evangelical Free Church where I lead Coffee Night, a monthly meeting for community outreach.  I am also part of the 'Sound and Projection team'. Along with Mike and Lyn (Operations Manager) I am involved in supporting our local schools' worker.  I am a passionate gardener and enjoy bird watching and walking.
