Computers and IT equipment

TWAM takes desktop, mini tower and laptop computers along with LCD screens of at least 15inches, leads and peripherals like mice, keyboards and webcams. Whether you wish to donate your home computer or you represent a company with a number of machines your donations of IT kit would be greatly appreciated and are great demand by our partner organisations, such as for teaching IT in schools.
Computers are cleaned and refurbished where needed, including part replacement or upgrades, if required. All computers are securely wiped to UK government standards, we take your security very seriously and can supply certification, if required.
Computers are then rebuilt with operating systems, updated with latest security updates and supplied with a selection of suitable free software such as Libre Office, prior to sending out to partner organisations. All required peripherals are sent out with the computer including an LCD screen with desktops.
We also send out small and large networking kits which consist of Cat 5 cables and either a small 4/8 port switch or a large 24/48 port switch.
We require PC's with Dual Core processors or above, capable of running Windows Vista or later operating systems. Ideally we look for machines capable of running Windows 7 or 10, but will accept machines running a minimum of Windows Vista.
We are not able to make use of very old biege coloured IT kit, CRT screens or very old heavy laptops (greater than a inch thick with big external power supplies). Laptops must be able to run on mains supply.
We cannot accept any printers, scanners, televisions or overhead projectors.
