We're pleased you've filled up your car, now look at how to fill up lives with the hope and dignity of livelihood creating tools

Please look around to find out a bit more about us and the opportunities we have for volunteering.  We have been in Ipswich for over 20 years and currently work from of an industrial unit on the Hadleigh Road Industrial Estate Hadleigh Road Industrial Estate less than 5 minutes from Hadleigh Road Sainsburys and less than ten minutes from Tesco Extra and Morrisons.

We are open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm and we have lots of great opportunities for all ages and all abilities.  We're friendly and welcoming, have plenty of car parking, a great rest room with tea, coffee, biscuits and most weeks doughnuts.  We hold special volunteer days in the summer and at Christmas.

To find out more about our Ipswich Refurbishment Centre go to our dedicated volunteer website timefortwam.uk/ipswich

We have a busy Refurbishment Centre where men and women work together to sort, refurbish and put into trade kits every conceivable tool.  We have people who:

  • Check and repair sewing machines and knitting machines

  • Sort hand tools for carpenters', mechanics', builders', plumbers, gardeners and many other trades

  • Check electric hand tools and PAT test them

  • Repair and inspect computers and IT equipment

  • Repair the big machines like band saws and lathes

  • Haberdashery teams putting together sewing kits

  • Teams putting together knitting packs

  • Teams sorting school books

  • People putting together scholar packs

We also have a van team travelling across the East of England collecting donated tools from our team of volunteer collectors.  A great way to meet lots of people and drive a nice van.

If tools are not your thing, then we have lots of admin opportunities in our head office.  We have a small team of staff and volunteers , who are busy responding to our supporters by phone, email and post.  We have an account team, operations team, publicity team and lots of interesting roles for the right person.  If you would like to join this friendly office, why not get in touch.

The office is next to the Refurbishment Centre, so you could always do a bit of both.

We're all passionate about saving old tools, reducing landfill and creating livelihoods across the developing world.  If you are too and want to join a friendly welcoming team, we'd love to hear from you.

The application process is simple and can be completed online at the bottom of the page, or with just a short application form to print off and return which can be downloaded here timefortwam.uk/apply-by-post.

If you want to pop in and see us first, you would be very welcome, just email us or give us a ring.   Ask for Sandra to talk about the office roles and Trevor to talk about the Refurbishment Centre Roles.
